HelpLine Accepting Proposals for 5-Year Strategic Planning

Delaware, OH — HelpLine is pleased to announce that it is accepting proposals from experienced and qualified individuals or firms to lead the organization’s Organizational Planning, Visioning, and Development efforts. The selected consultant will help develop a long-term vision and a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan to guide HelpLine’s continued growth, program development, and community impact.

Founded in 1970, HelpLine is a nonprofit social services agency with over 50 years of experience providing crisis support, prevention education, referral services, and volunteer engagement across North Central Ohio. As the region’s only 24/7 comprehensive crisis and information line provider, HelpLine has evolved through strategic mergers, innovation, and a strong commitment to community collaboration. Today, HelpLine responds to an average of 19,000 requests annually and continues to expand services across eight counties.

The intent of the strategic planning process is to build consensus among staff, board members, stakeholders, and the community regarding HelpLine’s priorities and vision for the next fifteen years, with a formal 5-year Strategic Plan serving as the actionable guide. The process will address key organizational areas, including financial sustainability, program innovation, staff compensation structures, and enhanced interagency collaboration.

“We are looking for a partner who will guide us through a thoughtful, inclusive, and transparent planning process that engages our community and prepares HelpLine to meet the evolving needs of those we serve,” said Dr. Tonia Pace, Executive Director of HelpLine. “This strategic plan will be crucial for ensuring HelpLine remains a vital resource for the future.”

Proposal Details:

  • Proposals must demonstrate qualifications, experience with nonprofit strategic planning, and the ability to lead inclusive engagement efforts such as focus groups, workshops, and surveys.

  • Deliverables include a 5-year strategic plan and long-term vision addressing organizational growth, program sustainability, stakeholder involvement, and resource allocation.

  • Evaluation criteria will include relevant experience, approach, references, understanding of Central Ohio communities, and cost (though cost will not be the sole determining factor).
