Did you know that every year Connections Volunteer Center sets aside a day to focus on senior citizens and their volunteer impact? Each year Connections, a program of HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties, Inc., designs a SHINE project with a local nonprofit agency to highlight the effect of senior volunteers in our community. We invite you to join us for the fourth annual SHINE project day, August 13 at LSS Food Pantry on London Road.
In years past the event has served the Common Ground Free Store, FEED food pantry and Share; a local program that serves the homeless of Delaware County. Suzanne Pingry, Connections Program Director says, “This event gives our local seniors a day to highlight the thousands of hours they give annually with a meaningful project.”
Be a part of the grand opening for this new permanent location that will follow a choice pantry model. Volunteers are needed to help register & welcome clients, shop with clients, check out clients and some restocking of shelves. Two shifts are available from 10am – 12:30pm and 12:30pm – 3:30 pm with lunch provided for volunteers. For more information and to register call Connections at (740) 363-5000 to participate.
Let’s show the community what seniors can do!
