Morrow County Youth Leadership Council

The Morrow County School Based Youth-Led Councils are offered to Morrow County high schools who are interested in establishing a youth-led council within their school. This council meets once a month during school hours, typically during lunch or study center, for students to develop, distribute, and evaluate prevention activities based on students' experiences and needs. Benefits of this program include developing student responsibility, leadership and advocacy experience, fostering a safe and prosocial peer network, and connection to caring adults.

HelpLine is currently offering a youth-led council for Highland High School students for the 2024-2025 school year.

What is a Youth-Led Council?

Youth-Led Councils are a place for students to come together, discuss issues that they see in their schools, and work to create solutions for a better, safer, and healthier community. Council members determine project topics, which could include mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, teen dating violence awareness, or even environmental or sustainability projects.
