Make a Difference Day Ohio (MDDO) provides Ohioans the opportunity to gather together one day a year and help their community. On the last Saturday of October, every year, our nation comes together to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Make A Difference Day is the largest single-day of volunteering in the country. No matter who you are or where you’re from, everyone has the power to do something that improves the life of another.
Join Connections Volunteers Center in their celebration of Make A Difference Day Ohio in Delaware County on Saturday, October 25th. Our community needs all of us to help keep it clean, beautiful, and at its best!
Registration is available online at www.connectionsvolunteercenter.org, for volunteers of all ages, and project ideas in association with MDDO. Hundreds of volunteers will gather, beginning at 8:00 am at Camp Lazarus with a light breakfast and job assignments for the volunteers. Volunteers then go to Senior Citizen’s homes and area non-profits to do outdoor chores or a special project. The volunteers then return to Camp Lazarus around noon to turn in their paperwork, grab a hot dog and talk about how much fun they had and how much it meant to the people they served.
“We look forward to coordinating Make a Difference Day in Delaware County every year. It is just three hours of time for one person, but multiply that by hundreds of volunteers and the impact is astounding thanks to the response from our community. It is the perfect occasion for families and groups of all ages to volunteer together as a team, or any individual wanting to give back. Just one morning of volunteering truly makes a lasting difference.” says Suzanne Pingry, Connections Volunteer Program Director.
This intergenerational event is open to volunteers of all ages – individuals, families and groups are welcome. Last year more than 40 Senior Citizens and 20+ Delaware area non-profits received volunteer services. Everyone is looking forward to doing it again!
Sign up to join the fun before Monday, October 13, 2014 at ConnectionsVolunteerCenter.org or you can call 740-363-5000, pre-registration is required.
