Training opportunities with CEUs no cost – learn how to protect our children!
Delaware and Morrow County, Ohio: HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties, Inc. is pleased to offer Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children training, a program dedicated to ending child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light’s retrospective studies show one in four women and one in six men were sexually abused before the age of 18. Meaning, there are more than 42 million adult survivors of child sexual abuse in the U.S.
HelpLine is expanding efforts to engage community members in Morrow County to educate adults in preventing child sexual abuse. “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interacting with children – you walk away with actionable steps to protect the children in your life; as well as easy to implement policies to ensure safety within your organizations” says Sue Hanson, Executive Director.
Stewards of Children is a comprehensive program that incorporates all of the fundamental mechanics necessary in creating organizational policies and procedures that keep children safe. The curriculum features the “7 Steps to Protecting our Children,” Darkness to Light’s core, evidence-based educational tool for sexual abuse prevention.
In the training, adults will learn how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly in situations of child sexual abuse. The program is designed for organizations that serve youth and for individuals concerned with the safety of children. Stewards of Children is the only nationally distributed, evidence-based program proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors.
We invite you to join us for this free training on March 6th at the Mount Gilead Community Service Building, located on 619 W Marion St in Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338, from 6pm-9pm.
