Connections Volunteer Center Offers Training for Professionals in a Broad and Affordable 2015 Schedule

Connections Volunteer Center, a program of HelpLine, is offering another full year of community training opportunities in 2015. Visit the website, www.connectionsvoluntercenter.org, to review the new catalog and register online. All trainings are open to the public and provide CPEs for social workers/counselors, CEs for nurses and several trainings will offer Recognized Clock Hours (RCHs) for Chemical Dependency Counselors.

CVC_2015_Training_Front“Our training program is ideal for local professionals that need to stay current with licensing requirements and best practices.” Says Suzanne Pingry, Connections Program Director. “Last year, we had 630 training participants and 56,385 hours of continuing education provided to professionals – be sure to take advantage of this great local resource and register for classes today.”

A broad range of in-person training programs will be offered this year on topics including:

    • February 27, 2015 – Legal and Ethical Issues in Counseling and Social Work with Tammy Tingle

    • March 5, 2015 – Understanding and Managing Anger with Dr. Joseph Shannon

    • March 24, 2015 – The Dynamics of Friendship & Bullying in Late Life with Paula Taliaferro, MGS, LSW
  • April 2015
    • April 15, 2015 – We’re All in this Together: Group Therapy Facilitation with Gwen Rees, MSW, LISW
    • April 29 & 30, 2015 – ASIST: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Morrow County with Max Lencl, LPCC, CDCA
  • May 2015
    • May 5, 2015 – Introduction to DSM-V with Jennifer Haywood, LISW-S, LICDC-CS
    • May 14, 2015 – Workplace Empowerment: Taking Control of Your Safety with Officer John Hartman
  • June 2015
    • June 2, 2015 – When Families are Struggling: Working w/Special Needs Families with Hilarie Barry
