In response to recent national stories involving Cyberbullying and it’s dangerous effects, we at Helpline wanted to remind you that Cyberbullying should never be taken lightly. In a 2013 Youth Risk Behavioral Survey conducted in Delaware County, 27.4% of middle school students and 20.8% of high school students reported being electronically bullied within the prior 12 months.
Please talk to your children about Cyberbullying. Children who are Cyberbullied are more likely to:
Use alcohol and drugs
Skip school
Experience in-person bullying
Be unwilling to attend school
Receive poor grades
Have lower self-esteem
Have more health problems
